This remediation project required a multi-step approach due to the depth of the excavation and water management issues. After discovering that the house was built without a footing, new concrete footing sections were formed and poured. Fourteen AB Chance 2 7/8" round shaft helical piles were install to 21 feet below grade. A multi-point de-watering system was installed to pump up to 30,000 gallons of groundwater per day. However, the term 'pier' often refers to a helical pile loaded in axial compression, while the term 'anchor' often refers to a helical pile loaded in axial tension.

The concept is founded on the principle of turning a helical (screw) pier into stable subsoil strata until the torque applied indicates that the necessary load capacity has been achieved.
Adjustable brackets are then attached to the base of your foundation walls, connecting the piers to the foundation. The weight of the structure is then transferred to the piers.
